Providing high-quality education for everyone has been one of the principal objectives of development in the 21st century since education may be linked to the increase in the living standards and social development. In this thesis, the variable of education in the 21st century has been investigated within the period of 2010–2019 amid the era of two UN international programmes: Education for All (EFA) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The analysis was dedicated to three countries of Southeast Asia: Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Although the overall quality of education ranked low compared to other countries in the examined period, between 2% to 6% of GDP had been invested in education in the three analysed countries. The relationship between the government expenditures and enrolment to school served as the main inquired variable. A week relationship between the variable of financing and enrolment was then identified in Thailand and, by contrast, a strong relationship emerged in connection to the university level of education in the Philippines. A direct dependence, and thus a relationship exhibiting a growth of expenditures alongside the rise in enrolment, occurred only in Thailand in 2010–2014.
Do we have too many university graduates? What lifetime earnings profiles can tell us

Since the beginning of the 21st century, the Czech Republic has experienced dynamic growth in its university-educated workforce. This trend was initially driven by the foundation and growth of private universities in the Czech Republic in the late 1990s, followed from 2005 onwards by a substantial opening-up of public universities. The share of the population aged between 30 and 34 with higher education has more than doubled over the course of three decades. From an economic perspective, do we now have too many university graduates in the Czech Republic? The answer to this question is crucial when it comes to deciding the extent to which the state should – financially or otherwise – support future growth in the numbers of university students and graduates, and how much it should encourage citizens to pursue initial or lifelong university education. The answer is also an important factor in debates about the need to increase the currently low financial support available to university students. The study we present here provides descriptive statistics about employees’ wages and salaries, which serve as a useful basis for any discussion of this important question. We compare trends in university-educated employees’ wages and salaries for cohorts born in 1960, 1970, 1980 and 1990. The shares of university graduates in these cohorts differ substantially. Further, we observe trends in the earnings ratio for these cohorts between university- and secondary-educated employees, i.e., the percentage differences between the mean or median earnings of employees with higher education and those of employees with only secondary education.
Level of perceived stress and the need to use social media among students on a study abroad placement

This study aims to investigate whether studying abroad alters levels of perceived stress, loneliness, and the need to use social networks. Standardized questionnaires and a question on average daily screentime on social media were used to determine these variables for a group of students on a study abroad program and a group of students who were studying at their home university for a given semester. T-tests showed a statistically significant difference between these groups for the length of social media screentime and the loneliness variables, while no difference was shown for the perceived stress variable. Subsequently, the linear relationships between these variables were also tested, and except for the relationship between loneliness level and daily screentime on social media, all were proven to be statistically significant by correlation tests.
Academic development of students with learning disability at the Faculty of Science at USB

The Master's thesis focuses on the academic development of students with specific learning disorder studying at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of South Bohemia. In particular, the thesis discusses the analysis of individual BA study programmes, where difficulty of the studies and the amount of workload are observed. The conclusions drawn from the thesis will be further utilised in a more general research project conducted by "GA JU". The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical background to specific learning disorders (henceforth "SPU"), their categorisation, symptoms, diagnosis and re-education. Emphasis is pit on their manifestations and diagnosis not only in childhood, but also in the high-school and university environment at the time of adolescence. Furthermore, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is discussed, also including manifestation in adulthood. The author further analyses university education in the Czech Republic with emphasis on the University of South Bohemia (henceforth "JU"), its history and individual faculties. The empirical part of the thesis is devoted to the analysis of BA study programmes offered by the Faculty of Sciences. The analysis focuses on compulsory as well as restricted elective subjects included in individual study programmes. The attached tables present the amount of credit exams and Zk+ (both credit and an exam) and the requirements necessary to pass the subjects in individual semesters throughout all years. It is from these requirements that the assigned workload is derived, which is then compared to the theoretical knowledge and needs of the students suffering from a specific learning disorder that affects them during their university studies.
Attitudes of young people with disabilities to academic education

This thesis deals with issues of level and structure of education of contemporary Czech population with a view to the target group of disabled people. It talks about historical evolution in this field, current trends and available statistical data, which represent it. A prominent theme of the thesis is a lower number of disabled people with university education in comparison with intact population. We will have a short look at supportive measures for students with special needs at Czech universities as well. Then, a part of the thesis is a survey which examines attitudes of young disabled people towards university education. Effect of massification of university education on the labor market and job opportunities for graduates

This dissertation examines the influence of massification of tertiary education in labor market. There are explored effects of access to higher education of graduates and their chances of finding an adequate employment. It is partially inspired by the piece of work from Jan Keller and Lubor Tvrdý - Vzdělanostní společnost? Chrám, výtah a pojišťovna. The thesis also describes a situation on the labour market with regard to the employment of graduates and their applicability in practice. Statistical research is used and complemented by a survey among employers. The main objective of the thesis, ie. Employment of graduates in the labor market, was achieved thanks to these results. This piece of work could be used as a presentation of the results of the quality investigation and the need of higher education.
Specific Needs of Deaf People Studying at Universities in Czech Republic

The thesis focuses on the issue of education of people with hearing disabilities at universities in the Czech Republic. It emphasizes the specific educational needs of people with hearing disabilities who study at the university, and which meet the needs by support services. Work specifically address to the different types of support services and centres to support students with special educational needs at universities that offer these services. The survey, conducted in the form of online questionnaire, found that the use of support services is frequented and at the same time, the quality of these services is rated as very high. The survey also followed the use of modifications graduation exam correlated using a modification of entrance exams for universities. Created an online questionnaire in the Czech sign language provides effective feedback deaf students to the centres to support students with special educational needs. The use of graduates of the Physical Education and Sport study program at Charles University Faculty of Physical Education and Sport on the labor market

This dissertation thesis deals with the use of full-time Masters' graduates of the Physical Education and Sport study program at Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University on the labor market. In the theoretical part a review of the current state of knowledge about the use of graduates on the labor market was completed, especially university graduates. On the basis of this review the construct of the use of Charles University Faculty of Physical Education and Sport graduate was operationalized and the main tool of the survey, the electronic questionnaire, was compiled. The basic set of the survey was formed by the graduates of the full-time Masters' studies program between the years 2010 and 2015 in the fields of Secondary School Teaching (double-subject), Physical Education and Sport (single-subject), Military Physical Education and Sports Management. 346 responses from 671 questionnaires were obtained (52% return rate). In the result part collected data was first analyzed by the chi-square test on the basis of 3 identification variables (gender of the respondents, field of study and year of graduation) and subsequently individual results of the survey were presented. Czech female students at high schools and universities at the turn of the 19th and 20th century: Case studies Honzák's sisters

The thesis is on female education at the turn of 19th and 20th century in the Czech kingdom. It researches the situation of female students at the Czech secondary schools and Czech universities at that time. The life story of sisters Honzák's is used as an example to describe the situation in detail. The thesis deals with their status at the society, their family background, their colleagues and teachers'attitude and the approach of Ministry of Cult and education. As the resources there are personal letters, school records and their own memories. The resource derives from both archive and periodicals which were interested in progress in female education. The topic of female higher education is taken in general at the beginning, the first chapters are concerned with history od female education and school laws and the first female grammar school Minerva which is an inseparable part of the history and takes an important part in my thesis, then i tis followed by students'memories. The first female students had to overcome lots of obstacles to get the same university degree as male students. Their rewarding experience and memories give us a possibility to realize how much effort they had to make to become equal members of an university.
